Panda update animation

Now we know what Dave was up to. Our old friend the Panda update algorithm raises his ugly head once again.
Quite frankly I have heard enough about, we still enjoy making our little animations and handing them out free. If Google considers our website poor quality and demotes us in the ranking it is not our loss but yours.
I will write no more about it, I have only got on my soap box because Dave made this Panda animation.

Come on Dave, we want some decent animations now, update the gardening page or finish off those puzzles we were talking about earlier and lets get back into the swing of things again.

Animated rubbish bins

This week we have made a couple more in the bin animations. We used the green bin that Dave made for the Mary Bale animations that has now become obsolete. Of course any one could be planted in these bins at any time. Dave is working on adding a couple more animations to the gardening page and hopefully we will see them next week. Strange thing is that I caught him making a Panda animation, not sure just what he is up to with that.

Because we are concentrating on adding more content to some of our “thin” pages the puzzle page has gone onto the back burner. When they do appear I think that they will be just a little different to our normal stuff.. Summer is coming and Dave tends to sit in the garden rather than making animations but I will do the best I can to keep him working.

Google or Bing

Dave has used Google for years, he says that in the early days when Google first came out he set up the computers at work with Google as the default browser. He has changed all that now because we have found that Google are returning some very strange results. A lot of websites are getting multiple listings for one search term, we in fact get four listings on the first page for one search term and a lot of sites with copied content are outranking the original content site. So is it Google or Bing, we think Bing has come along in leaps and bounds and definitely use it more than Google. Watch out Google, Bing is increasing its share of the search engine market and when you drop clangers like this they must be jumping up and down in delight.
Of course we are not SEO experts, just ordinary people with a website as a hobby, but we do wonder how many people will agree with us. I had to get Dave to change the original animation, his bad language is terrible sometimes.

Last of the modifications

We have updated as much as possible on our website now and after a thorough investigation have already added two more animations to the transport page.The kit car here was made by Dave years ago but he had not made a really good animation of it until now.

The Mary Bale page with the cat in the bin needs updating and we will add something different in the pop up bins The Gardening page looks a little sparse and an animated garden fork and spade would not go amiss.The Guy Fawkes page had an obscure and out of date remark about Gordon Brown on, that has been removed and we are not too sure what to do with the royal wedding animations now. Next week we will be back to normal with some new animations I hope

Self catering Larnaca

We are still hard at work cleaning up our site, removing some of the bad pages and dead links and basically writing our memoirs. Hopefully by next week we may have some new animations. We have also fitted in a holiday to Cyprus, stayed at the Sea ‘n Lake view Holiday apartments in Mackenzie Bay Larnaca and were so very well looked after by a very friendly Greek family who owned it. We just had to add a review on our website about it called self catering Larnaca.
We are cursing Google for this new algorithm but it is making us tidy up and making things a little better for the visitor.

Panda algorithm on Google search

No new animations this week but a major update is going on our website. The new Panda algorithm on Google search has hit our search results very badly. When you look at our site you see very little text content which the bots look for and they are not to know that our original animations sometimes take days to make and can be much better content than some articles. The Panda update has also affected Dave’s Flash blog; he is getting a lot more hits on that because of better text content. We have decided to add a lot of more text and make our website more like a blog. Between us we have a lot of information about the animations and a lot to say about the subject matter. It would be nice to see our site rating better in the search engine again; after all we are giving away animations and it is you out there who will not find us that are losing out. Don’t you agree?
