Animated arrows

This week I looked at my animated arrows page and thought that it was very uninteresting. All it had on it was a few coloured arrows and a couple of big arrows with flashing lights on. Every one is doing that sort of thing; you will find thousands of web pages with these sorts of animations. So, I had to do something different to everyone else and I posted a few samples on Google plus, people seemed to like them and even suggested others I could make. The arrow page now looks totally different and the monkey arrow animation is just one of six new animations I have created and posted. I hope that they can be of use to someone. Should you open a page on Sevenoaks Art and decide that it could do with some more animations, just let me know, I need something to keep me busy in my retirement, especially while it is raining outside.

Feng Shui animation

Chinese animations

This week I have added a few more animations to our Chinese page, that includes a Feng Shui animation that I have on show here. I was pleasantly surprised that this 24 frame animated gif is only 80 kb. I also added a couple of Chinese umbrellas. Sometimes when making an animation you have high expectations of  what it should look like and the umbrella animation is not quite how I visualised it to be. That is the problem when making animations.

Sometimes you think "This will not work" and you end up with one of the best animated gifs ever, maybe that is why I'm addicted to creating all this stuff. In the early days my approach was to make as many pages as possible with all different categories, sadly this meant that some pages might only have one animation on it and could possibly be a disappointment for people landing on it. Now that I have retired it gives me time to have a look at some of these "bare" pages and add a little more content to them. The Chinese page is the latest update. Hopefully all this makes for a better visitor experience.

Father's day animated gifs

Father's day animations

Father's day is not so far away so I have added a few more animations to the father's day animated gif page on my website. I could not resist the temptation to add a Dalek while I was at it as well.
The website has come a long way since the early days and it was only recently that I converted it to CSS. It certainly is a lot easier to navigate now.
Not too sure what new animations will be added next week, I'm doing a little behind the scenes work on my website at the moment and once that is finished just about anything could pop up next.

Teddy Bear animations

Animated teddy bears and monkeys

My teddy bear animations have been around for a long time and I even have a selection of nation teddies waving the flag of their home country. My good friend Tommy Tight pants Fry, a musician and very good artist made the original model of the grand piano and I just modified it a little. These models were never meant to be animated but I always look for some way of doing this and the piano just had to have its lid opened and shut. The monkey is another one of my models and he also has his own page on my website.
Last Friday Dot and myself had a trip on the Orient Express, it was a retirement present from the company I used to work for and we thoroughly enjoyed our four hour trip around the countryside in a luxurious first class carriage hauled by a steam locomotive. We had a five course meal, champagne and a bottle of wine included and the service by the stewards was impeccable. The trip started and finished at London Victoria, an easy station for us to get to. I think Dot now she has a taste of the good life would like a little more. We already have an Angel card which gives us access to the executive airport lounges because we fly out to Cyprus quite often and they are really worth it because you can spend a small fortune by using one of the airport restaurants. Food and drink in these lounges comes as part of the deal and the one at Larnaca even has ouzo which you just help yourself to.
